West Meadows will, as the advertisements say, “Wow” you. Tucked in behind the Highwoods Corporate Center and bustling Bruce B. Downs Blvd., you will find winding streets, designed to slow traffic, handsome brick detailing and artfully landscaped entrances to each village. You have the choice between stylish townhomes or single family homes, gated or non-gated communities. For those “high tech” people, fiber optic technology runs throughout. Easily accessed from Bruce B. Downs Blvd. via Highwoods Preserve Parkway or New Tampa Boulevard, West Meadows is just minutes from I-75, Busch Gardens, the University of South Florida, and major medical facilities. Downtown Tampa or Tampa International Airport is a 25-30 minute commute.
West Meadows is a master-planned community of twelve diverse villages. Each village has characteristics that distinguish itself from others such as architecture, legal structure, budget structure, single family dwellings, townhomes, gated or non-gated. All of the villages in West Meadows are entered from either Highwoods Preserve Parkway or New Tampa Blvd.

In addition, West Meadows is part of the Tampa Palms Open Space & Transportation (TPOST) Community Development District (CDD), an independent special purpose unit of Hillsborough County established to create and maintain a desirable infrastructure for a District consisting of three developing New Tampa neighborhoods. Bonds issued by the CDD help to finance basic public improvements and community facilities, including the construction, maintenance and expansion of the Community Recreation Center and street lighting throughout West Meadows.
A 35-acre recreation center offers West Meadows residents a bounty of activities and entertainment. The large community center features a 1000-square foot community room for parties and one of the best equipped fitness centers in New Tampa, according to residents. Jazzercise, Zumba and yoga classes are held weekly. Those who prefer to exercise outdoors will enjoy the baseball and soccer fields, as well as basketball, volleyball and tennis courts and a great playground for the kids. For swimmers, there are two pools, including a kids’ pool with a two-story slide. Nature trails, walking and biking paths run throughout the community.
Other recreation opportunities include nearby Flatwoods Park, which provides a welcome getaway from the hustle and bustle of New Tampa development. Best known for its seven-mile paved loop road, which winds through native Florida wilderness and wetlands, Flatwoods Park is frequented by cyclists and hikers alike. Richmond Place Community Park on Highwoods Preserve Parkway offers tennis courts and a children’s playground, as well as shady grounds for picnicking or to simply enjoy the outdoors.
